Parenting Arrangements Mediation

Leona is certified in the following Mediation services

Supporting Child-Centred
Co-Parenting Solutions

Parenting Arrangements Mediation supports parents in creating practical, child-focused arrangements following separation, divorce, or significant family change. The process provides a safe, structured, and respectful environment where parents can discuss important decisions relating to their children with the support of an impartial mediator.

Parenting arrangements can often become a source of stress and conflict during separation. Mediation helps parents work together more constructively by improving communication, reducing misunderstandings, and supporting cooperative decision-making that prioritises the wellbeing and best interests of their children.

Leona provides a compassionate and child-centred approach, drawing on her experience in family mediation, Child Inclusive Mediation, her background in Inclusive Psychotherapy Practices, and her MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy to support families during periods of transition and change.

How the Parenting Arrangements Mediation Process Works

Individual Pre-Mediation Sessions

The process begins with confidential individual pre-mediation sessions, where each parent meets separately with Leona to discuss family circumstances, parenting concerns, and the issues requiring support.

These meetings also provide an opportunity to explain the mediation process, assess suitability for mediation, and help parents prepare for constructive joint discussions focused on the needs of their children.

Joint Mediation Sessions

Following the pre-mediation meetings, joint mediation sessions are scheduled to support parents in working through parenting arrangements together in a respectful and structured environment.

Leona supports open and balanced communication throughout the process, helping parents remain focused on creating workable and sustainable arrangements that support the emotional wellbeing, stability, and developmental needs of their children.

The mediation process encourages parents to place the needs and experiences of their children at the centre of discussions and decision-making. Parenting arrangements can be reviewed and adapted over time as children grow older and family circumstances evolve.

Where appropriate, Child Inclusive Mediation may also form part of the process, giving children and young people the opportunity to have their voices heard in a safe and age-appropriate way.
